BIOGRAPHY
Katie has devoted her practice to civil defense litigation since her admission to the West Virginia State Bar in 2010. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Katie’s experience encompasses all aspects of civil defense litigation in state and federal courts. She focuses her practice on defending individuals, state and local governmental entities, and private businesses in matters primarily relating to civil rights, education, employment, negligence, premises liability, professional liability, and wrongful death.
She earned her Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia in 2007 and her Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2010.
Katie, born in South Korea, was raised in rural Bath County, Virginia. She lives in Charleston, West Virginia, with her husband and two children, and enjoys traveling and taking advantage of the Mountain State’s vast outdoor activities, especially hiking, camping, and kayaking.
