William R. Slicer, an experienced trial lawyer, has been defending national and local companies since 1989. His litigation experience has included the defense of catastrophic accident cases, product liability cases, employment discrimination and harassment cases, and exposure cases involving dust, asbestos, silica, and chemicals.
Mr. Slicer has also been defending the coal mining industry since 1990. His work for this industry has involved matters pertaining to contracts, leases, mine health and safety issues, citations, workers' compensation and unemployment claims, accidents, dust, noise, blasting, coal haulage, flooding, deliberate intent, business interference, property disputes, harassment and non-compete agreements. His successful defense of companies in the mining industry follows in the footsteps of his late grandfather, Robert G. In addition to mining industry clients, Mr. Slicer has successfully defended commercial construction companies, engineering firms, manufacturers, national retailers, satellite television companies, oil and gas companies, and insurance companies.

Mr. Slicer and his wife, Virginia, have two children. He is active in his community where he has served on various boards and is a member of Charleston Rotary. Outside work, he plays ice hockey and coaches a youth ice hockey team which in 2012 finished 29-1 and champions of the Midwest Youth Hockey League.
